Training in Values

Values Education

The school directs its philosophy toward faith, happiness, justice, and respect in order to form transcendent human beings. Autonomy, a democratic spirit, and altruism are fundamental pillars in the education of our students.

Within our community, we seek to live out the fundamental values of the human person, building a space for reflection based on justice, honesty, responsibility, respect, and solidarity, promoting the internalization of values to foster a harmonious environment across different spaces of interaction that ensure healthy coexistence.

This experience is grounded in the Salesian principles of guidance, respect, kindness, and healthy living as fundamental pillars of human dignity. Moving forward with firm steps under the conviction that every reality must be transformed to improve, in pursuit of the best path toward HUMAN PERFECTION.

Leon Joaco
Joaco Mascot

“Noble and determined,
Like the rampant Lion
On our shield,
Fearless and bold,
Our passion lies
In always moving forward,
Our foreheads held high to the sky,
Never a step back!”

As revealed in the institution’s anthem, the mascot is the Lion, representing the strength and intelligence with which members of the educational community face different situations without being dominated by fear or anxiety; on the contrary, they respond by taking action without fear.

To encourage a sense of belonging within the educational community toward the institution, we have the mascot “Joaco”, a representative icon of the school and emblem of the GJJC marching band. Joaco is present at all institutional activities.

Joaco’s Houses

José Joaco has five houses, each enriched with human values that provide a broader and deeper focus on the holistic development of students. These values strengthen their sense of community, ethics, and empathy, promoting an environment where personal and collective growth are a fundamental part of everyday life.

Each of our students becomes a member of one of the Houses that represent the school’s core values. They are guided by captains from 10th and 11th grade, who have distinguished themselves through their leadership and mentor the younger members of each house. Every year, captains and teachers organize sports, artistic, and academic competitions among the Houses, creating bonds of brotherhood, fraternity, and integration throughout the entire educational community.
