Emotional Intelligence
The social, emotional and family changes derived from this period made visible the impact of emotions on mental health, behavior and school performance of children and adolescents. Therefore, the importance of implementing a specific Emotional Education project that responds to the current needs of students and provides them with practical tools to face the challenges of everyday life arises.
Through this Emotional Intelligence project, Gimnasio José Joaquín Casas seeks to strengthen emotional competencies through weekly activities designed to promote self-knowledge, emotional self-regulation, empathy, assertive communication and peaceful conflict resolution. These activities are developed by combining audiovisual resources, role-playing, group dynamics, speech or dialogue circles, case studies, guides, debates, mindfulness, breathing and relaxation exercises, among others, which facilitates the understanding of the contents and allows to connect learning with real experiences.
In summary, Emotional Education at Gimnasio José Joaquín Casas contributes to form students who are more aware of themselves and others, able to recognize and manage their emotions properly, develop resilience in the face of difficulties and act with respect and solidarity within the educational community. In this way, the project becomes a significant contribution to the integral formation of the students, preparing them not only for the academic field, but also for their personal and social life.
